FILM

EXCITING NEWS! The Philipsburg Arts Fund is extremely proud to announce that the "Best Civic Story Award" was presented to our "Saving the Burg" film at the international UN-Habitat Better Cities Film Festival at the tenth session of the World Urban Forum in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on February 10-13, 2020. This film festival was launched by First+Main Films, partnering with the UN Habitat, and they will now work with host cities around the world to bring these top award-winning films into communities to inspire conversation and change in their own towns.

We are very honored and excited to have our"Saving the Burg" film sharing our story worldwide!

Jim Jenner's International Award Winning Film was created in honor of Philipsburg's 150th Sesquicentennial. He was ably assisted by Jordan Lefler, Editor, Lacie Grosvold, Associate Producer, and Tori Olson, Production Coordinator. Jenner's documentary captures the heartwarming quarter century comeback of historic Philipsburg, Montana.

This film was made possible by generous local donations and a grant from the Greater Montana Foundation.

To honor Philipsburg's 150th Anniversary, our Arts Fund group commissioned a one-hour film by local filmmaker, Jim Jenner. The resulting documentary, "Saving the Burg", proved to be extremely popular and sold hundreds of DVD copies and ran a dozen times on Montana PBS in 2019.

Told in the voices of more than 30 natives and newcomers, "Saving the Burg" was acclaimed as a powerful retelling of our history and a potent reminder of how the right effort, both individually and collectively, can restore both physical structures and hope in a once depressed community.
